It has been a long time since an update, but LJR Productions has been busy. We have new screenplays and short films completed and will need to be added to the website. We are also linking up with Runaway Romance Productions, LLC as a partner company and will have FollowTheSky.com re-designing the website into a sleaker looking Flash site.
In the meantime, the big news is our new Forums we have setup. Our news updates will be posted there on current and future projects along with Cast and Crew calls for any upcoming films. (forums.ljrproductions.com)

Home Game - Documentary on Role Playing Games | 2006-08-12 |  |
Finally had time to re-cut a short documentary I did on Table Top Role Playing Games. The documentary shows actual gamers in their natural enviroment and their outlook on RPGs. The name of the documentary is, "Home Game." Click HERE to check it out.
Currently in production on "Spirit Flute." A short film about a photographer, who finds an ancient in the desert while taking pictures of the landscape. However, there is more to the flute than he initially suspects. I'll be directing this one with some custom costuming as well. We should complete post production sometime next week. Will post it here once its finished.

Have been busy recently and working on projects, but nothing under the LJR Productions banner. That will soon change.Currently, over the next 2 weeks I'm working on shooting footage for a documentary on Table-Top Role-Playing Games. Hopefully, will get some good gaming footage along with meaningful interviews. In the meantime, a few weeks ago wrapped up directing, acting, editing on a music video re-shoot of the Smashing Pumpkin's song - "Bullet With Butterfly Wings". Click HERE to check it out.

Well due to hardware issues, I was unable to get the completed film off my editing station onto miniDV to turn in for screenwars. Eventually, I was able to get the film on miniDV but 2 hours past the deadline. I've since submitted the short film to the Phoenix International Sci-Fi/Horror Film Festival.  Pictured here is the 2nd mouth puppet I've ever designed and built. Special feature for this puppet is that his eyes glow red in the dark, via battery operated fiber optic lights, built into the head. This is the start alien creature to a new 3 minute short film created for the local ScreenWars of Arizona. It shows every Saturday at 5:30pm on channel 13 here in Phoenix. This entry is for the Horror/Sci-Fi genre group. The deadline is August 8, which is next monday! I'm right in the middle of shooting for this short and all I have left are the daytime shoots. Which I should get this coming weekend. This is a short film about a group of furry little aliens that come to earth and accidently crash land in someone's backyard swimming pool. A few of the creatures make it out alive and into the owner's home of the swimming pool. Human ignorace and fear ends up ruining this first contact and the alien creatures unite to destory the humans in return.

 Thats right.. LJR Productions now creates puppets and I've started my trek as a puppeteer. If anyone else in the area needs a puppet built or a puppeteer for their film, send LJR Productions your needs. Pictured here is "Cookin' Jack" from a recent short film shot in Scottsdale, AZ. The film "Cookin' Jacks" was 1 of 30 entries in the local 48 Hour Film Challenge contest here in Phoenix, AZ, with the genre being- horror. If you can't tell, this muppet is a zombie puppet created just for the film.
If you get a chance, "Cookin' Jacks" will be screening at the Harkins Centrepoint Theater in downtown Tempe, Arizona - Aug. 4th at 7pm.

The Dragon Lore Inn AdventuresLJR Productions has moved into a new area. Flash animated cartoons!!!
I'm currently working on my first short cartoon called, "Fish Tales." It will only have a short run but will be my first introduction film to the world of cartoons.
Also in development is a Dungeons & Dragons style cartoon called, "The Dragon Lore Inn Adventures." The series will center around an old inn in the middle of a mystical forest. Check the DLIA forums for more information.- Jon Ray

Fairy Stump premieres at the Arizona Screenwriters Association’s Shortfilm Showcase tonight at the Author's Cafe in Scottsdale, Arizona. The crowd that turned out was bigger than expected. Well now that Fairy Stump has been shown in public finally and the contest for which it was originally created for cancelled, I have put the movie up for download HERE.

Construction of the 3d forest for this short film has begun. This is a test rendering of the 3d forest with grass. The scene is only 12 seconds long, but last time without the grass it took 4 days and 9 hours to render it. This time with the new addition of 3d grass it should take about 5 - 6 days just to get 12 seconds of footage. But the over all look is much improved not to. Meanwhile, I continue to design the claymation fairies which will walk and fly around the stump in later scenes.
